Dusty's sister Jocelin tagged us with the bug tag. So here is our lists of things that bug us.
We tag Craig and Aubree Hunter, Jeselyn and Greg Peery, Melissa Beck, Brad and Camille Brian, Camilla and D Millar.Dusty's list - Version 1:
Middle age women, cell phones, and SUVs. I have nothing to say about these individually (well except cell phones - please see below), but together they make a deadly combination. Get Ms. Jones talking to her girl friends about where the next book club meeting will be for Twilight on her cell phone driving over 80 mph down the free way and you had better kiss your life good bye. So many times while living in Salt Lake City I would be cut off by a large and in charge Ford Explorer. In place of a blinker would only be bangs, fancy finger nails and a thrown back head in laughter. ARGGHHHH....
Dog poop. If you have seen "Ghost Town" with Ricky Gervais you will recall his enouncter with his neighbors gigantic horse, er, dog. You see, I have a very strong gag reflex as well; especially when it comes to dog poop. Yes, this is saying something given what these eyes and this nose encounter in my clinic on a daily basis. Here on our military base we cannot walk around our block without dodging these doggy dooddoos every three steps. My children are not skipping down our street carelessly singing “if you step on a crack you'll break your mothers back”, but rather our modified version “if you step on a piece of @#*& your mom 'll throw a fit”. One day, when I finally snap, an unsuspecting dog owner will find a month’s worth of dirty diapers hidden under the hood his car…
Another cell phone annoyance - This used to happen frequently in undergrad. Walking across campus you would meet another student, strike up a conversation, and within a minute his cell phone rings. Of course this is a very important call...from...his roommate telling him something like his laundry is done and he is removing it from the dryer. I usually walked off at this point. A college student and a cell phone. A necessary tool of success to check ones e-mail, text, and sports scores all while in class.
In the clinic I have 20 minute slots to see my patients. With out fail I get a patient a day with a laundry list of complaints ranging from the benign ingrown toenail to the more ominous chest pain. Usually this is a 65 year old white male who follows up his encounter with, "Well doc, how 'bout renewing that viagra". Ahhh, the purple pill. The cure of all social ills.
Telemarketers. Funny, everyone reading this probably has worked as one some time in his or her life.
My wife laughing AT me not with me. No this does not get easier with time.
Pyramid schemes and "friends" who invite you to "the opportunity of a life time". This is usually someone from high school who wants to "catch up".
Kenny G.
Ward Assignments. What is an assignment in the ward anyway? A calling? Are you even set apart for this? Sounds like all the work without any blessings...
Did I mention Kenny G?
Jandee's list:
When a sandwich shop does not have avocados or guacamole for my vegetarian sandwich. Hello-- avocado is like the meat of a veggie sandwich.
That my kids can not blow their noses. I say blow, they sniff; I say blow, they sniff; I say blow, they sniff they sniff they sniff.
Watered down hand soap. Half of it slips through your fingers and you end up using twice as much as you would normally.
The smell of moth balls. Need I say more, just thinking of the smell makes me want to vomit. I walked by some at Home Depot the other day and was completely grossed out.
Crickets. Their are a ton of crickets in the summer, when it is dark outside I don't dare go out, I am afraid I would step on some and the thought of crunch from a cricket gives me the creepy chills - you know what talking about.
Projects left unfinished.
Telemarketers.
Not being electronically savvy. I waste so much time trying to figure things out.
Pet hair.
