This weekend their was an air show here at Luke Air Force Base. It was very exciting to watch. The kids were able to go inside some of the planes they brought in for the show. It was amazing to watch these planes go up and down and spin all around I can't imagine how dizzy those pilots might get. Our favorite was the new F22, it is awesome to watch. It is almost completely silent until it passes you, then the incredible sound of the engines about blow you away. We went on Saturday as a family and the heat was on- welcome to Phoenix 95 degrees already! Isaac and the neighbor boys played "air show" when we got home, they all brought out the model planes and had a good time. Our friends the Brown's and Westwood's drove out from Mesa to see the show, but after waiting for an hour and a half to get shuttled in they decided to leave -sorry you guys, we feel so bad. We are hearing from a lot of people that parking and shuttling people in was very inefficient and they didn't have enough buses. Here is a clip of a couple of planes from the show.

Dusty has already completed his intern year so next summer we will be heading to Gainesville, FL for 3 years to finish up training. We are excited to live by our friends that are already out there, we had a fun visit in January and look forward to residency.
Congrats Dusty for all your hard work!

Take me out to the ball game. . .
On Saturday we went to a spring training baseball game. During spring in the Phoenix valley lots of major league baseball teams have spring training and play each other. We saw the White Sox and Rangers play. We had a fun time with Dusty's cousin Brent Anderson and his cute family and also Dusty's friend Tom from work. Isaac actually ended up with a home run ball that Tom got- how cool is that. It was such a nice day to sit in the sun, drink a lemonade and watch the game (78 degrees).

Chicken from a Vegetarian
I did it! On Saturday I canned/bottled CHICKEN! How is that for a vegetarian (my nephews like to call me the "weirditarian"). I know what you are thinking (this looks disgusting), but the enrichment leaders (Jenny & Tiffany) ensured us that when you take it out of the can it falls apart like shredded chicken and that it tastes great in enchiladas, soups, bar-b-q sauce and casseroles. I am going to have the family test one of the bottles out soon to see how it tastes. Dusty laughed when I told him this because he knows that means he'll be the one to test it out (me being a vegetarian and all!) I was a bit nervous to do this, I had to use a pressure canner which was a kind of intimidating. I did 3 batches (7 pint bottles in each batch, each having to cook at a certain pressure for an hour and a half) and it pretty much took the entire day; but it is all cooked and great for our family food storage. Nothing says "I love you" more than adding canned chicken to our food storage from a vegetarian -right! I love my family :)
I did however, have time to squeeze in an HOUR LONG appointment that Dusty had set up for me to get a SWEDISH BODY MESSAGE he did this last year too. It was a great surprise and very relaxing. Thanks babe.
