Camping

Last weekend Dusty, Isaac and Dusty's cousin Brent Anderson and his son Mason enjoyed a camp out at the White Tank Mountains. They actually saw a rattle snake -go figure we live in the desert! They had fun watching it for a while. The kids loved camping out -and except for the burn Isaac got on his forehead from a large spark from the camp fire:( everything went really well and Dusty and Brent were able to stay up late and reminisce of the good times they had a growing up.

Mesa

A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed a weekend get away in Mesa, AZ. It was great because we didn't have to drive far - just across town. We had a great time at our hotel swimming and feeding the ducks in the pond. One day we toured upscale Scottsdale, Arizona; we visited the famous Fashion Square Mall and witnessed all the rich folk we had heard so much about. We rode the trolley through the downtown tourist shopping areas. We headed out to Goldfield Ghost town one day and saw the Superstition Mountains, a desert reptile museum and went on a train ride. Our friends - the Browns and Westwoods (we always love getting together with you guys) came over for dinner and had fun telling stories from dating. Here are few pics from the fun weekend, you'll notice Emma wearing dress ups in a couple pictures -she thinks life is all about livin' it up in dress ups!

Blue eyed babe. Sophie is so fun right now she is starting to take a few steps and stand for longer periods of time. She gets so excited when we cheer her on, she will clap and wave.

CANCELED DEPLOYMENT!!

I wrote two versions of the story, take your pick.

Long story short. . . Dusty's deployment was canceled!!!

Long story not too long. . . Last Thursday night the kids and I packed up the van and headed up to Cedar City to spend Easter with some of Dusty's family. On Friday Dusty called from the 10 week training he was at in Indiana and said that they were reorganizing his unit and his deployment was canceled. In other words, he was coming home. WOW, we were overwhelmed with excitement and tried to stay calm. We were worried that he might get rerouted somewhere else in the mean time- so far we have lucked out. On Saturday he caught a flight home to Phoenix. We tried to see if he could fly into meet us in Southern Utah, but that didn't work out. He was required to fly into the same airport he flew out of and needed to report to work on Monday morning so was unable to meet us in Cedar City. We'll just say his homecoming was spent finding a shuttle home from the airport, calling the housing community to let him into our locked house and walking to the storage unit where his truck was stored to pick it up. However, when I returned the table was turned, I came home to a dozen roses, a gift card and Dr. Pepper:), thanks Dusty. We are so blessed to have Dusty home and are so thankful for everyones thoughts and prayers. All our family and friends have been so concerned and caring during these past few weeks of craziness. Thank You Everyone.

BTW
Dusty had two things to say after all was said and done, "I shaved my head for this" and "Can I have my two weeks back!"

Family Pics

Last week we were able to get our family pictures taken before Dusty headed off. Natalie Godown from our ward took them and she did such a great job, I recommend her to anyone in the area. We had them taken at Litchfield Park Elementary and Litchfield Rec Center. I posted a ton, because so many of them turned out. :)
