Isaac enjoyed learning about Earth Week at preschool this year. He has always been good about turning off the lights when he leaves the room, not littering, and recycling. But he picked up a few new ideas at school. He found this yellow star button one day when we were on a walk, he immediately picked it up and came up with the idea to REUSE it by gluing it to a magnet. Another day I drove him and Emma down the road about a half a mile for a quick swim while Dusty had Sophie at home. On the way home he told me we should have walked. . . he said "MOM THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM" and preceded to tell me about the North Pole, ice melting and animals dying. He is very concerned about our earth and taking care of it. He is also good about encouraging us to ride our bikes on those short distances. A couple of other times when we have been on bike rides he has stopped to pick up garbage that we have taken home to recycle. He has begun to look at things before throwing them away to see if they have the recycle arrows on them. In fact he has become so aware of the recycle arrows that he thinks the 3 arrow circle traffic sign for a round-a-bout is to remind us to recycle. I think it will start to remind me to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE too. Thanks for your good example Isaac.

That is so cute. I'll never look at a roundabout sign the same again.
